A Piece of Cake

Rumours are afoot around the farmyard that we are to be invited to share a piece of cake to mark the launch of our new town next week. Some may feel this is redolent of the apocryphal words of Marie Antoinette, but I do not sense revolution in the air at this stage. From the content of previous posts (e.g., "Beginnings"), you might feel confident to guess the colour of the icing.

It is true to say that in the months ahead there will not be much icing on the cake for our little venture, and the cake itself will be smaller than in previous years. It is interesting but ultimately sad to witness the varying survival strategies of some of our townsfolk, ranging from keeping a low profile to waving magenta flags. Some have discreetly left the town or are in the process of doing so. For those who have been temporarily evicted, the future is even more unclear. Still, a nice piece of cake will help.
