A Shepherd's Tale

It can be a lonely life wandering the moors high above Septford, with only the wind and sheep for company. A shepherd's thoughts turn inwards, to such an extent he is not only lost in thoughts but also lost on the moors because of inattention. There is something infinitely sad when you are both lost and lonely. I feel there are times when it seems that the sheep are there to guide me, and I have often been seen responding eagerly to another shepherd's call to his trusted dog, carried on the wind (the call, not the dog). Seen by my own puzzled sheep and an overhead crow.

So, I am going to embrace this new-fangled technology thingy. I am not egocentric enough to have an I-Phone or I-Pad so I  have developed the Ewe-phone and Ewe-Pad to get, in the modern parlance, "on line". Pending patents prevent me from elucidating the nature of these new gadgets, but using them is shear pleasure for a shepherd. I hasten to add that no animals were harmed either during the development phase or subsequently.

I have decided to make myself available to the world through the medium of social networking and to this end have created a page on what I am reliably informed is probably the leading brand in this field. I can be found there in all my glory, and I look forward to some stimulating and amusing dialogue with anyone who happens to stumble knowingly or unknowingly upon my page. It will bring colour to my lonely wanderings and give me something to look forward to as I retreat to my lodgings after a hard day with my sheep (Point of grammatical clarification - the sheep don't retreat with me to the lodgings).

Now that there is a good likeness of me on my profile picture, there may even be a bit of swooning from those who dream of sharing life with such a handsome shepherd. To date, I have not been blessed with a Mrs Crabapple, save for my poor old mother, but that is another tale.

So, what are you waiting for? Log on, get in line or on line, and dip in - as I say to the sheep, ha, ha! (Note for swooning women - GSOH).
